Dr. Augustine Okere

Research Associate

Dr. Augustine Okere contributes to Connected Development’s [CODE] research objectives for strategically creating models for feedback loops to enhance and promote effective democratic governance, accountability, transparency, and citizen engagement. He also provides insights into CODE’s research component across several projects. Experienced as a lecturer, Augustine worked with Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Anambra. As a socio-economic policy evaluator, he is interested in answering questions on how the politics of sustainable development impacts developing countries in different areas such as democracies, financial inclusion, conditional cash transfers, social amenities, and inter-regional trade.  His research and expert interviews have been featured in peer-reviewed journals, Economy Watch and Impakter. He has collaborated with research institutes such as Overseas Development Institute (ODI), the Chronic Poverty Advisory Network, Center for Migration Studies, Gaia, and Savanta; while providing insights, policy briefs and journal articles covering a range of topics, like “Financial Inclusion in Nigeria;” “Evaluation of Nigeria’s performance in international development objectives (MDGs);” “Conditional Cash Transfer and Nurtional Poverty;”
